Dear Africana/ Black Studies community,

There are a number of upcoming events of interest to the Africana/  
Black Studies community. I will send additional information about  
these events, but thought this summary might be helpful.

1. Thurs. Feb. 25, Hasan Kwame Jeffries, "Freedom Politics: From the  
Black Panthers to Barack Obama," 4pm in the College Union Ballroom,  
followed by a reception and a book signing. Sponsored by Africana/  
Black Studies, Democracy Matters, CAS, and supported by Student  
Activity Fees.

2. Wed., March 3, Hollis Watkins, Workshop on Student Activism in  
Jones Hall, Main Lounge, 7:30-9pm, King Commemoration Event.

3. Thurs., March 4, Hollis Watkins, Keynote Address, 7pm, College  
Union Ballroom, King Commemoration Event.

4. Wed. March 31, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana, Her  
Ladyship Georgina T. Wood, will deliver the Roemer Lecture, College  
Union Ballroom.


The King Commemoration events are sponsored by: Office of the Provost,  
Africana/ Black Studies program, Xerox Center for Multicultural  
Teacher Education, Office of Multicultural Programs and Services,  
Office of Residential Life, and Kinetic Gallery.
