Carvin Eison will present his film "Shadows of the Lynching Tree" on
Thursday, April 10th at 3:00 p.m. in Newton 202, followed by a
discussion of the film.  The film documents the events surrounding
the lynching in Waco, Texas of a 17-year-old black youth, Jesse
Washington, in 1916.  Carvin Eison is an independent film-maker and
an Associate Professor of Communication at SUNY Brockport, and his
films have won numerous awards. This event is free and open to the
public and all are welcome.  Please encourage your students and
colleagues to attend!  The event is sponsored by the SUNY Geneseo
chapter of United University Professions (UUP).
