The Department of Theatre and Dance presents a FREE reading of The Bald
Soprano (An Anti-Play) by Eugène Ionesco directed by sophomore Joshua A.
Shabshis in partial fulfillment of his work in Theatre 388 at 4 pm on
THURSDAY, MARCH 5 in the Black Box Theatre in Brodie Hall. There are 72
seats in the theatre, and the theatre opens at 3:45 pm, so arrive a bit
early for the best seats in the house.

Mesdames et Messieurs, Ladies and Gentlemen, enter with us into the world
of absurdism, a world where everything you ever thought was proper and
socially acceptable is challenged. The door is now unlocked, but we must
warn you, once you have stepped through the cracks and joined Mr. and Mrs.
Smith and their good friends Mr. and Mrs. Martin at what they would call a
“casual” dinner, you will only see your own reflection, and question the
sincerity of everything you have ever thought, felt, and labeled as
universally proper. This is your chance to awaken, to leave the depths of
the hypnotic trench that we all consequently dig ourselves into. Eugène
Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano will transport you to a dimension that takes all
the rules of society and social relationships and turns them on their head.

The Bald Soprano stars Nolan Parker, Olivia Knowlden, Oliver Diaz, Samantha
Clowes, Jessica Kirkpatrick, James Fenimore Cooper III, and Robbie Held.

Please join us and bring a friend!
