Dear Black Studies Colleagues and Students:

We are now accepting submissions for the Annual Black Studies Student Essay
Award in the following categories:

   1. Best Critical/Analytical Essay
   2. Best Research Paper
   3. Best Creative Writing

Please share with relevant students the application form below and/or
consider nominating a student essay for the committee’s consideration.

 The aim of the award is to recognize outstanding undergraduate scholarship
in the field of Black Studies writing.  A $50 award for the top essay in
each category will be awarded at the end-of-year Black Studies Picnic (date
and place TBA).  Submissions will be judged on the basis of content,
argument, organization, relevance, intellectual rigor and/or creativity.

The form below (and also attached) must accompany every submission.
deadline is April 20th*.

prize.  It should be attached to the front of the paper being submitted.
