Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People," by *Thomas
Allen Harris*, has been nominated for a News & Doc Emmy Award

category of *Outstanding Arts and Culture Programming*. This exceptional
film examines the role of photography in the lives and identities of
African American people from slavery until the present. This year's News &
