[Blackstudies-l] Deadline for the Annual Black Studies Student Essay Awards extended to April 24th

Cathy and I heard brilliant papers at GREAT Day yesterday.  Please
encourage your students to submit their work.


BLACK/AFRICANA STUDIES is now accepting submissions in the following
categories:

1.       Best Critical/Analytical Essay

2.      Best Research Paper

3.      Best Creative Writing

The aim of the award is to recognize outstanding undergraduate scholarship
in the field of Black Studies writing.  A $50 award for the top essay in
each category will be awarded at the end-of-year Black Studies Dinner (date
and place TBA).  Submissions will be judged on the basis of content,
argument, organization, relevance, intellectual rigor and/or creativity.



The form below must accompany every submission.   *Submission deadline is
now April 24th*.
