Join us on Thursday, February 27, 4:00-5:00 in 322-323 College Union for an
information session about our new experimental extreme learning course
entitled “Social Justice through Intergroup Dialogue” scheduled for the
first time this fall.

Course Description: Intergroup Dialogue brings students from diverse
backgrounds together to explore an element of their identity such as race,
ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, sexuality, or ability status.
Through an intensive dialogic process, students explore their own
identities, listen and learn as others share elements of their background
and experience, and connect these discussions to an examination of
historical and contemporary systems of power, privilege, and oppression.
This work is intended to cultivate intergroup understanding and the ability
to positively engage in a pluralistic society. The course builds critical
thinking skills and engages students with the principles of social justice,
stresses content connecting individual and group experiences to wider
contexts, and includes self-reflective work that interrogates the reasoning
and impact of one’s personal beliefs and actions.
