Black people in Virginia are disproportionately suffering under the weight
of a sewage crisis.
For four months, Hill was unable to harvest her oysters because of the
leak. “It is devastating,” Hill said.
“It seems like a form of systemic racism not just for me as an African
American female, but for those who are not the 1%.”
