Announcement for Students of French:

Geneseo's Mu Iota chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor
Society, is seeking new members.  If you believe you are eligible, and you
would like to be considered for induction into the organization, please
contact me at <evans at geneseo.edu>, at 245-5247, or in Welles 213, BY
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11 AT THE LATEST.  The induction ceremony will be the
evening of April 14.  If you are unable to attend the ceremony, you can be
inducted in absentia.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:  undergraduate or graduate student;  successful
completion of at least one semester of 300-level French; successful
completion of three semesters of  college;  minimum GPA of 3.00 in French;
rank in upper 35% of class; minimum of sophomore standing.

Lifelong, one-time dues are $30.  You will receive a Pi Delta Phi pin and
certificate.  Graduation honor cords may be purchased for an additional
$10, but are not required.  I need to receive all dues payments by March
10 at the latest.  (If the amount is a hardship for you, please let me
know.  I don't want anybody to be excluded for financial reasons.)
