[Musicfaculty-l] Updates

Hi, all.

Since our last departmental meeting went long, I indicated I would send 
you an update on the rest of the agenda items, as follows:

*Information Items*

 1. The latest projection on Doty being ready is sometime during the
    Spring 2013 semester. The contractor is actually estimating that it
    will be early in the semester, but most occupants will probably not
    move over to their office spaces until that summer. I don't know if
    this means we can use the recital hall for some activities in Spring
    2013 (e.g. grad recitals), but it means that we should probably
    assume not, then adjust at the time if it is possible.
 2. There will be some end-of-year money available for equipment and
    supplies. Please let me know of any requests you might have.
 3. There will be a lecture in Wadsworth on May 2, so if you need access
    to the auditorium on that date, please let Tammy know a.s.a.p.
 4. Speaking of Tammy, she will be on vacation from April 6 through 13.
 5. The Middle States team will be here next week. You are welcome to
    participate in any of the open discussions. A schedule is available
    at http://go.geneseo.edu/selfstudy.

*Action Items*

 1. If you have not already had a chance to submit concerts for yourself
    or an ensemble for the 2012-2013 season, could you please do so as
    soon as possible.
 2. Preview Days (run by Admissions on Tuesdays and Thursdays) begin
    next week and run for the next month or so. The departments run
    information sessions for visiting students and parents, usually
    around 2:30 or 3:00 on those days. Normally I have done these
    sessions, but I am teaching during those time slots this semester.
    Is anyone available to help out with this, please?
 3. Please remember that we have a special meeting on Wednesday, March
    28 to discuss planning issues for the Music Department in general,
    and we also have our next regular meeting scheduled for Wednesday,
    April 4. I will send around another document in the next couple of
    days in preparation for our planning discussion.
