Hi ILL folks,
I am stuck on a copyright issue. We are starting to do a bit of Document Delivery to a specific set of patrons who do not have electronic journal access. Right now we are using this tiring method of printing all e-articles out, scanning and sending them to ourselves. We then check them in and deliver them to web for the patron.
We would like to start using the feature in ILLIAD where we can drop the article in the pdf folder and just check in to the patron using Notify Electronic Delivery.
We are printing items out to avoid thinking about copyright restrictions of each journal. I am going to check in with my Collections folks but I also wanted to know what the ILL community feels about this. Is just posting the PDF, without printing or adding a coversheet, ok in the eyes of most journal publishers? How have you handled this issue in doc del and lending?
Thanks,
Wendy Brown
