[Workflowtoolkit-l] Conditional processing on the lending sideof Illiad

We have had an acronym around here for quite a while that applies to many situations when working in front of a PC:

RATS: Read
             All
             The
             Screen

RATS is particularly important to keep in mind when working in ILL. But, even the best of us have momentary lapses. :)

I 'love' the conditionals where (for example) we tell them we can't lend the format due to our policy that the borrower requested (failed deflections) and they reply yes to the conditional.

That's what I thought-but I was just checking to be sure -as I say since I didn't see any notes on some of the requests

The borrower has to say "yes" to the conditional in order for the lender to see it again. If the borrower says "no" then the request will either go Unfilled or go on to the next lender in the lender string.

We have a question regarding conditional processing on the Lending side of Illiad

I want to verify that we should assume that everything we see in awaiting conditional processing is a yes response to our original conditional.

We get a few items in our conditional processing queue on the lending side, but often there are no additions to the borrowing notes. This usually happens when we ask a yes or no question

For example we have asked if the borrower can accept a microfilm copy. We get the item in our Awaiting conditional processing queue-but there is nothing on the request that indicates yes or no. Are we supposed to assume that they agree to accept microfilm by the very fact that the request is showing up in our conditional processing queue. If they had said no-we wouldn't see it again -right?

This has sometimes happened with charging information. For example our charge is $25 for a copy, will you accept. Then the request comes back to our conditional processing queue but sometimes without a note to indicate they are willing to pay the cost. Are we supposed to assume they are willing because the request is sitting in that queue-if they had said no-we would not have seen the request again.

We do get notes for the ones that ask for more than a yes or no answer for example which volumes they need.

Thanks very much
